About This Walk

A rich history marked by characters such as Louis Riel, romanced by Gabrielle Roy, preserved and promoted by a number of organizations.   This tour will talk about the history, then take you down the main commercial strip, where new tenants have bought into the vision of a French neighborhood.   But there's still more to come.  Learn about the plans for the future and join the discussion on how we build on this historic area of Winnipeg while making it a destination for business, residents and tourists.  The tour will end at the newly licensed La Maison des artistes Art Gallery, where you can enjoy a refreshment while continuing the dialogue with representatives of the Tourism Bureau, the St. Boniface Residents' Association and Entreprises Riel, the area's economic development agency.
