Waterloo, Iowa is a city of 69,000 people that is part of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls metropolitan area. The Cedar River bisects the scenic downtown which has been undergoing a revitalization due to the combined efforts and investment by private and public investment. Historically, Waterloo has been the economic hub of northeast Iowa and was known as the "Factory City of Iowa" during the late 19th and the 20th century. Waterloo is home to major design and production facilities of John Deere as well as several other manufacturers and distributors. The City is one of the most diverse in Iowa.
