On this walk, Eugene Quinn from political culture group space and place and 60 walk participants stepped inside some of the more infrequently-visited parts of a UNESCO world heritage site: Vienna’s Historic Centre. Eugene loves the cinematic quality, and silence, of the hidden corners of our city centre, especially on Sunday mornings. It was amazing to see the green treasures hidden in some of the inner courtyards, to walk through hidden passages and gain new perspectives on some of the most touristy areas of Vienna.

This wasn’t Eugene’s only walk during this year’s Jane’s Walk Vienna festival. On his “New Donaukanal” walk, we explored Vienna’s catwalk, an urban development along both sides of the central Danube Canal. Good music, interesting street art, and a pop-up scene that changes each summer makes this place is as cool as Vienna gets. It attracts an unusual mix of migrants, creatives, local residents and visitors.
