Special announcement in response to COVID 19 regarding Jane’s Walk Festival 2020
Taking into account the rapidly evolving set of global circumstances that is affecting each city differently, we are encouraging Jane’s Walk City Organizers to make decisions about their local festivals that prioritize the health, safety, and wellbeing of their communities. For some, that may mean cancelling this year’s festival. For others, that may mean postponement. For yet others, it may mean getting creative – taking the essence of Jane’s Walk and finding ways for that essence to live through channels that maintain physical distance! We believe it is most important to not physically gather or walk together in May. See the full Steering Committee Statement.
Jane’s Walk is an annual festival of free, community-led walking conversations inspired by Jane Jacobs.
On the first weekend of May every year, Jane’s Walk festivals take place in hundreds of cities around the world. Jane’s Walks encourage people to share stories about their neighbourhoods, discover unseen aspects of their communities, and use walking as a way to connect with their neighbours.
