🌍 Global Connections & Regional Updates from the Jane’s Walk Steering Committee

Dear Jane’s Walk friends,

As we move through this exciting 2025 festival season, we wanted to share a few updates from the Steering Committee about our growing global connections, recent regional calls, and an exciting invitation for our Latin American organizers.

National Call: Jane’s Walk Canada-Wide Meetup

On March 4, we hosted our annual Canada-wide call, bringing together city coordinators from across the country. This organic and informal gathering offered space for coordinators—both new and seasoned—to share festival plans, ideas, and lessons learned. It was a beautiful reminder of the diversity and creativity in how communities across Canada bring Jane’s Walk to life each year.

Thank you to all who attended and shared your stories and experiences. We look forward to seeing the many walks taking place from coast to coast!

🌏 First-Ever Regional Call: Australia, East and Southeast Asia

We’re thrilled to share that on April 3/4, we held our first regional call for city organizers in Australia, East and Southeast Asia. It was an inspiring session full of warmth, connection, and incredible storytelling.

A huge thank you to Eisen (Singapore), Silvia, Liya, and Meng (China), and Hayeon (Seoul) for presenting their Jane’s Walk stories during the call. Whether it was reflections on last year’s events or plans for this year’s walks, every story shared was a beautiful window into how Jane’s Walk continues to grow in new and exciting ways across the region.

🌎 Coming Soon: Latin America Regional Gathering!

Most excitedly, we’re reaching out to Jane’s Walk organizers in Central and South America with an invitation to connect across countries and celebrate your walks together.

As festival season winds down in the region, we’d love to hear from you:
How did your festival go this year? We’re eager to gather your stories, photos, and reflections—and to feature them on our global website.

We’re proposing a casual Zoom gathering in the coming months for Spanish-speaking Jane’s Walk organizers across Latin America. This session will be held in Spanish and offer a space for mutual learning, celebration, and community building. Several members of our global Steering Committee are Spanish speakers and happy to host.

🌐 Looking Ahead

Our Steering Committee is committed to deepening connection across the global Jane’s Walk network—supporting organizers, uplifting stories, and ensuring this movement continues to grow with care and community.

Thank you again for being part of this global movement. Your walks bring life, memory, and justice to the streets—and we’re so grateful for all that you do.

With appreciation,
The Jane’s Walk Steering Committee
